Fairs and Melas in Ambedkar Nagar The district is also popular for fairs and melas. As per Ramayana, the district is the home town of Shravan who was mistakenly killed by King Dasharatha. During Magh Purnima which falls on a full moon day in the month of February an annual fair is conducted on Shravan Kshetra that is attended by numerous people from in and out of Ambedkar Nagar. The urs mela of Kichaucha Shareef in Baskhari is also very popular in the district which falls on the 27th of Moharam. This mela is celebrated on remembrance of the great Sufi saint, Hazrat Makhdoom Sultan Syed Ashraf Jahangir Semnani. The other popular events that are celebrated at grand scale in the district are the Muharram Azadari and Amari. Govind Sahab Mela also famous in ambedkarnagar.

The Ashraf Jahangir Semnani shrine in the district is very popular. Hazrat Makhdoom Sultan Syed Ashraf Jahangir Semnani was a renowned Sufi saint who established his own sila. Mahadev mandir at Beedi village, Shiv Baba Mandir at Akbarpur Khateri road, Hanuman Mandir at Aniruddh Nagar in Benipur village are popular places of worship in Ambedkar Nagar. The city Rajesultanpur is very popular for shrines like Baba Bharmchari Ji Kuti, Maa Kalika Mandir, Shree Bram Baba Mandir, Riyasat, Durga Mandir and many more.
